Four of us began our 8-day safari in late May 2025. We flew into Mt Kilimanjaro Airport, where we met our guide, Peter Huka. After an overnight stay in Arusha we drove to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area & Crater, a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE. As we drove into the crater, our guide stopped and said, “Look at that! You are very lucky!” We watched as a beautiful leopard walked toward our vehicle, then sauntered past just a foot away. We saw the “BIG FIVE” of the “most sought” category – leopard, lion, elephant, black rhino and buffalo – within our first two days!
Our next stop was Serengeti National Park. We continued to be impressed with the knowledge, humor and professionalism of our guide, Peter. He was well aware of the importance of good lighting and positioning for photography. He shared his extensive knowledge of animal behavior, birds, trees and plants. During our tour we stayed in 5 different tented lodges/cabins and were impressed by premium accommodations and the wonderful staff at each one.
There are hundreds of safari companies in Africa. We hit the jackpot with UNIQUE SAFARIS and highly recommend them for anyone considering an African safari. Our experiences surpassed our expectations for each of us on this “trip of a lifetime!!” Penny & Jim
